Frequently Asked Questions

I offer online therapy for California residents, working with individuals, couples and relationships, families, and groups. My practice focuses on issues such as anxiety, trauma and complex PTSD, relationship challenges, boundaries, grief and loss, and emotional overwhelm.
In addition to traditional therapy, I offer Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP) for individuals working with trauma through a nervous system–focused approach. I also offer integration sessions for clients who are engaging in psychedelic work in collaboration with their medical doctor or psychiatrist.
While most sessions are currently offered online, you are welcome to inquire about in-person sessions or coaching services during a consultation.

The first step is to schedule a brief consultation. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what is bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
If we decide to move forward, we will schedule your first session and discuss what a supportive rhythm for the work might look like. Many people find that meeting regularly helps create continuity and depth in the process, though we can decide together what feels right for you.
You can schedule a consultation through the Book A Session on my website, or by reaching out directly by email.

My approach to therapy is systemic, relational, and collaborative. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I work with each person or relationship in the context of their broader emotional, relational, and cultural experience. We pay close attention to the nervous system, emotional experience, and the patterns that developed over time to help you cope.
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and self-aware. They often understand their patterns intellectually, yet still feel stuck emotionally, physically, or in their relationships. In our work together, we slow things down and explore what is happening beneath the surface so that new experiences of clarity, connection, and movement can emerge.
I integrate several approaches in my work, including emotion-focused therapy, somatic awareness, parts work, mindfulness-based practices, and practical tools that can be applied in everyday life. Therapy is collaborative, and your input helps shape how we work together and where the process goes.
I also openly acknowledge the inherent power dynamic in therapy and work intentionally to create a space where dialogue, transparency, and consent are part of the process. My goal is not to impose a framework, but to support you in reconnecting with your own capacity for healing and growth.
My background in hospice and palliative care continues to inform the way I work with grief, loss, and life transitions. In addition to traditional therapy, I also offer specialized work with Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP), which focuses on resolving trauma held in the nervous system and body.

Sessions are conversational, thoughtful, and collaborative. We begin by exploring what feels most present or important for you that day, and from there we slow things down and look more closely at the emotions, patterns, or relationship dynamics that may be underneath the surface.
At times we may focus on understanding a situation more clearly, and at other times we may pay attention to what is happening in the body or emotional experience in the moment. Some sessions involve reflecting on relationships or past experiences, while others may focus on identifying practical steps you can take between sessions.
Many people find that our work together helps them see familiar patterns with new clarity and begin to experience more movement where they previously felt stuck.
-
My practice is private pay. This allows us to maintain flexibility and confidentiality in our work together.
Current session fees are:
Individual Therapy — $225 per 50-minute session
Couples or Family Therapy — $250 per 50-minute session
Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP) — $450 per 2-hour sessionI offer a limited number of sliding-scale spaces on a case-by-case basis.
If you have questions about fees, scheduling, or reimbursement, or if you are interested in in-person or coaching services, we can discuss options during a brief consultation.
-
If you have a PPO insurance plan, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement for therapy sessions. I do not bill insurance directly, but I am happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement.
Your insurance company will reimburse you directly based on the details of your specific plan, including your deductible and out-of-network mental health benefits. Many PPO plans reimburse you a portion of the session fee once the deductible has been met.
If your question isn’t addressed here, please feel free to reach out through the Book A Session page, and I’ll be happy to help.
